Today's DFS Picks: Top values for DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy baseball contests

Baseball We have a huge 14-game DFS slate on Tuesday that features plenty of elite arms, some high-powered offenses in great spots, and plenty of value picks that will allow us to jam those high-priced studs in our FanDuel and DraftKings lineups. The main spot that everyone will be targeting tonight is the Cubs-Rockies, with the temperatures up and a stiff breeze blowing out at Wrigley, that game provides one of the best hitting environments that we have seen all season. The Cardinals, Red Sox, Brewers, Angels, and Rays all also have projected run totals sitting at five runs or more, so there are plenty of other excellent spots to stack if you want to fade the game in Wrigley. Today's pitching slate is as loaded as we have seen this season with Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Chris Sale, Clayton Kershaw, and Noah Syndergaard also all in action tonight.  Reminder, there's plenty of strategy that goes into putting together a winning DFS lineup, and the best place to start is RotoQL’s DFS tools. DFS Picks: FanDuel, DraftKings values for Tuesday, May 1Matt Adams, 1B, Nationals vs. Pirates (DK: $3,600, FD: $2,000)As you would expect, first base is loaded tonight on a 14-game slate. This makes saving at the position a likely contrarian option, and if you decide to go that route -- or are just looking for a cheap play to pair with a high-priced pitcher -- then it’s hard to beat Adams for the stone-cold minimum $2,000 on FanDuel. Adams will draw the start and likely bat fifth in the Nationals lineup against righthanded pitcher Chad Kuhl, who has struggled against lefties throughout his career. Adams has mashed righthanded pitching this season, posting at .438 wOBA a

gainst righties over his past 50 at-bats. He has also posted a solid plus-minus of plus-2.6 fantasy points over the past year against righthanded starters.Matt Joyce, OF, A’s @ Mariners (DK: $3,000, FD: $2,400)Joyce will draw the start and bat leadoff tonight for the A’s as they face an over-the-hill Felix Hernandez in Seattle. King Felix is far from the pitcher he used to be, and targeting the high-upside A’s offense in this spot is a great way to stand out from the crowd in large field tournaments. Joyce has some of the better platoon splits in the league and has posted a plus-minus of plus-2.0 fantasy points per game over the past year when facing righthanded starters. Michael Wacha, P, Cardinals vs. White Sox (DK: $8,000, FD: $7,000)Wacha has massive home/road splits that make him a great target whenever he pitches in St. Louis. Not only is Wacha taking the mound tonight at Busch Stadium, but he also gets a tasty matchup with the White Sox, who struggle against righthanded pitching. Wacha has met or exceeded his salary expectations on an excellent 74 percent of his starts at home over the past year. He has strung together four straight quality starts and actually flashed some strikeout upside his last time out against the Mets. Aaron Altherr, OF, Phillies @ Marlins (DK: $3,800, FD: $2,800)Altherr is quietly beginning to establish himself as a great batter to target against lefthanded pitching, and tonight he gets a great matchup with Marlins lefty Jarlin Garcia. Altherr has consistently flashed great upside against lefties, going for two times his salary expectations in an excellent 34 percent of his starts against lefthanded starters. Alther has an excellent plus-minus of plus-3.8 fantasy points when facing a lefthanded starter going back to last season. Altherr is an especially good buy on FanDuel where he will only cost you $2,800.
