State Farm will break a new ad during NBA coverage on Christmas Day featuring Clippers players Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan competing against Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard on the basketball court but the trio teaming up later to rid their house of skunks.

MORE: Early NBA season disappointments, surprises

The ad opens at a basketball game with Paul whispering to Jordan, “Set the trap.”  The teammates trap Lillard just over half court and Paul steals the ball. At the other end of the court, Paul alley-oops the ball to Jordan for a dunk.

Lillard brushes the two off when they congratulate each other with a fist bump.

The voiceover says, “State Farm knows that for every one of those moments … there’s one of these.”

The ad cuts to Jordan armed with a broom, Lillard armed with a trash can lid and Paul set to battle the rodents.

“Set the trap,” Lillard says.

But it’s be too late for whatever trap the trio has planned, as the skunks proceed to douse the home with spray.

Biggest NBA overreactions: Lonzo Ball's debut, Warriors' struggles, Giannis Antetokounmpo's explosion

NBA null null null null Basketball

Every NBA team has played a minimum of two games to start the 2017-18 regular season, so that means it's time to take incredibly small sample sizes and stretch them as far as possible.

No wasting time. No allowing for regression toward the mean. We need some hot overreactions. Here's what we got from the first week of NBA action...

The Warriors are going to fall this year

The Magic (2-1) are a better team than the Warriors (1-2). That is a factual statement based on their records. You can say that.

We did it, guys! The Warriors' reign of terror is over! Cats and dogs living together! Wait, Golden State still has Stephen Curry? And Kevin Durant? And Draymond Green? And Klay Thompson? Ah, right.

NBA null夜网论坛 Basketball

The Lakers are looking to make their next move.

Los Angeles agreed to send Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and three first-round picks, including the No. 4 pick in the 2019 draft, to New Orleans in exchange for Anthony Davis on Saturday, according to an ESPN report.

But now it is looking to make Charlotte's Kemba Walker a "top target" since it secured a second All-Star to pair with LeBron James, according to a report from The New York Times.

Walker, 29, is coming off a career year in which he averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists. While the Hornets posted a 39-43 record and missed the playoffs, Walkers made the All-NBA third team and qualified for a supermax contract. Lakers vs. Clippers score, highlights: LeBron James, Anthony Davis get bench help in win

NBA Basketball Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Lakers v Los Angeles Clippers Los Angeles Lakers

All four Los Angeles superstars showed up Thursday night in the Lakers' 103-101 win over the Clippers.

The slight difference between teams came from the Lakers' bench shooting. Kyle Kuzma scored 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from deep, and Dion Waiters chipped in 11.

It's usually a problem whenever Anthony Davis (34 points) and LeBron James (16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists) sit. Against the Clippers, though, the Lakers actually held a score advantage with James and Davis on the bench.

Bam Adebayo's defense on Kyrie Irving was even more impressive than his game-winning shot

An MRI exam on March 12 indicated last season's breakout star had suffered a mild sprain.“It wasn’t a staggering pain but it was still there and still lingering,” Rendon said about testing his knee Tuesday. “There was no point in pushing it right now and possibly going back to square one. World Series 2015: Royals win first title since '85 on Hosmer's mad dash, 12th-inning rally

NEW YORK — After all the talk, all the hype, all the drama that surrounded Matt Harvey this year, he delivered when it counted, and he delivered big. And it still didn't matter, because the Royals simply would not be denied.A third remarkable comeback in five games gave the Royals their first championship since 1985. They got the best Harvey had, the best the Mets had, and responded like champions, fighting all the way to the end and ultimately prevailing. The final score of the deciding game was a deceptive 7-2, deceptive until you note that it was in 12 innings, that the Royals would have lost the game had Lucas Duda made a good enough throw to catch Eric Hosmer on an ill-advised dash to the plate in the ninth inning. For the fourth time in five games, it wound up that Terry Collins left his starting pitcher in just a little bit too long, even though this time, leaving Harvey in for the ninth seemed like the right decision at the time.
